Step into 21 Atlantic Drive, Yzerfontein and you will find yourself in two worlds. The fynbos kingdom to the east and the ocean to the west. From there it is wherever your mind will take you. This fully furnished villa sleeps a maximum of 6 guests in three en-suite bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms have queen-sized beds and views of the fynbos, farmland, and the bay; a portrait of rural Yzerfontein, which colours itself as the day goes by. If you have bagsed the front bedroom, with the king-sized bed, then you will open your curtains onto 180 degrees of sea. If not, then move to the lounge or the kitchen for a mesmerizing ocean view that artists yearn to capture. Don’t burn the eggs.

The luxury villa is tastefully decorated and will appeal to even the most discerning of visitors. All three 3 bedrooms are en-suite. The dry and wet kitchen is sleek and designed for the cooking pleasure of all; from the slap-dash weekend cook to the culinary genius. There are cook-books for the inbetweeners. If you are one of those people who never go into the kitchen, then book one of the back rooms. They open onto a patio with a Weber-braai and a pizza oven. The lounge and dining room are furnished to look and feel comfortable. If you can snap out of your reverie that the views may have prompted, there is unlimited Wi-Fi, a flat screen and smart TV with multiple channels to enjoy. Otherwise, you can just lol around dipping into the splash pool now and again. For the kids, or those that have run out of conversation or are tired of the star-studded night sky that the evening brings, then there are board games. There is ample parking so don’t worry about having to limit guests, and there is plenty of secluded space to entertain them too. Pets are no problem. There is a large garden for them to explore, and it can be enclosed if you are worried about the odd Ostrich coming to visit. There is no need to bring everything but the kitchen sink. The bedrooms come with fresh linen and towels, and plenty of space for clothing. The kitchen and dining room are fully kitted. The entire house is for the guests’ exclusive use, which means it can work for groups or as an activity focussed retreat; art, yoga, writing … you name it. Guests will be checked-in and -out by the owner’s personal appointed representative.

Yzerfontein is a quaint laid-back seaside village on the West Coast, renowned for its long sandy beaches within an hour’s drive from Cape Town. The village is an urban conservancy and its residents work tirelessly to protect its natural heritage for future generations. An ideal location from which to explore the beauty of the greater surrounds of the West Coast region. In springtime the bay area is home to the Southern Right and Humpback whales.
