Pleased to meet you… As retired lecturer and experienced (21 years) 3-star guesthouse owner, Thys and Coretha Odendal knew “Stokkiesdraai” in School Street, Yzerfontein would convey the essence of relaxation. We present to you a well-equipped self-catering holiday home for 6 adults and 3 kids. Ideal for special times spent with family and friends. The furniture has been lovingly selected for comfort and ties in with the atmosphere of the home.
Sunshine fills the spacious interiors with light and warmth during the Winter and the huge windows keep it cosy and cool in the Summer. The spacious open-plan interior flows from an indoor braai with its own quaint seating area, into the kitchen, dining, and TV/lounge. Three en-suite bedrooms (showers only, no baths), provide double beds. Included in the upstairs large family bedroom are 2 single beds.
All beds have tasteful bedding with luxurious Granny Goose duvet inners, electric blankets and heaters which are provided in Winter. Towels are provided. A delightful sunroom provides ample space for everyone to enjoy boardgames and chatter. There is a workspace with a desk for a laptop available in a corner of the room. The room has 2 daybeds for reading or relaxing moments. An outdoor second braai area and a bonus splash pool are well positioned to keep you sheltered from the wind. Un fortunately “Stokkiesdraai” cannot accommodate pre-school children because of fear for open pool, rails and steep staircase towards the upper family room.
A hybrid inverter keeps you connected to Wi-Fi (free and uncapped), TV and provides necessary lighting during load-shedding. Suffice to say the property is considered relatively safe. With burglar bars on the windows and gates at the doors.The driveway has an electronic gate and there is sufficient parking inside the property for up to 4 cars.
Mr Fletcher will welcome you on arrival and see to it that you are comfortable. He is available and resides on the property by night and operates local guesthouses in Yzerfontein by day. The owners request that the person responsible for making the booking and whom will be in charge of the group, has to be at least 21 years of age. Their ID might be requested on arrival.
The harbour is a comfortable 5-minute walk from the property. Also, a mere 3-minute walk brings you to a pharmacy, ice-cream café, coffee shop and Deli. Yzerfontein boasts a well-stocked Spar and provides an extensive assortment of pantry and fresh goods, including a supply of wood. The town has a popular artisanal bakery, Rosemead as well as a brewery for beer tasting and much more to experience.
